Dear Adjunct and PTI faculty,

Please join us via Zoom on Monday, May 10th, 5:30-6:30 pm EST, for the first AU Self-Advocacy Clinic.

We'll talk about how to advocate for yourself — or to enlist the union to advocate on your behalf — as a part-time faculty member, with time for a Q&A/ discussion at the end. If we don't know the answer to your question, we'll research it and find out!

Topics for this initial session are likely to include:

• How do you know your contract letter is correct & what do you do if it's not? 

• What are the best ways to make connections in your program or department so that you & your colleagues view you as part-of? 

• Are you communicating via email & keeping a record of communications with admins when there's an issue? 

• How do you pick your battles? 

• Are your accomplishments getting acknowledged? 

We envision holding these clinics regularly throughout the year.

And for those who want to get more involved, we welcome your participation as part of the Self-Advocacy Clinic team going forward.
